Moving

We did close on that house in Lehi on Dec. 3. We moved everything just after Joe's graduation the second weekend in December. This is basically our first week though we've been able to really stay in it. We've had to travel back and forth from Logan to Lehi. I had to finish my job in Logan. It was very hard to do that. I will miss my friends I have made up there a lot!! I've learned so much there and I know Joe and I will miss Cache Valley a lot! We've basically lived up there our entire marriage to this point.
We are excited to finally have a house!! It amazing though how much stuff you need like ladders, cabinets, phones, desks, doggy doors, etc . . . Here are a few pictures to show. I haven't decorated much yet. My favorite addition is our new table. I love it!! I've included pictures of the outside, kitchen, table, family room, office, master bath.

Joe's Graduation

First off, Joe Graduated with his Masters in Accounting in December. Way to go Joe!! It's such an amazing accomplishment. I am so proud of him. He is anxiously awaiting to start his new job next week. We enjoyed having both of our parents there and Kaleb to help celebrate his accomplishment. I've included some pictures.

News

This last month has been eventful. We have made many trips back and forth to SLC and Logan. We have found a house in Lehi that we like and are hoping to close on it this Thursday! We are crossing our fingers. We just bought a new fridge and table, so hopefully we will have a place to put them in.:) Here's a picture of it:

It is a rambler with 3 bedrooms and an office finished. It has an unfinished basement. We are excited to expand our living space! I will let you know when it is a done deal and will include more pictures in the future. I have accepted a job at Timpanogos Hospital and will officially start in the ER department after the first of the year. Joe is two weeks away from graduating with his Masters!! Yea!!! We are both excited for that phase to be over. However, we have truly enjoyed our time here in Logan. We have both grown so much and are grateful for the many blessings we have received in the past 4 1/2 years. I have some mixed feelings about moving. I love my job here and the friends we have made. I definetely dont like change, but I know that things will work out. I'm trying to have a positive attitude. So, those of you in Salt Lake I would love to catch up with you!!

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We spent the time with my family. We were able to celebrate my mom's birthday by eating pizza and seeing Twilight!! It was so fun. Joe was skeptical about going and I kept telling him that he would like it. Who was right?? He really enjoyed it. He said, "I think I would like to listen to the books now". :) Joe loves chic flicks!!

On Thanksgiving we kept up the Romney tradition and went bowling in the morning. Despite a rocky start and dismay from Joe, I ended up bowling a 165 and then a 183. I have never bowled so well!! It must be all that practice on wii bowling paying off. Joe was hoping to finally beat me. No such luck!! Hee hee. I will say though, that over the past 4 years he has improved dramatically!! We are so grateful for our families and the time we are able to spend with them. Its amazing how the Lord blesses us all. I look forward to the future and what is in store for us.

Not to forget, we also enjoyed spending a few days with Joe's sister Becca and her family in Delta and also to have Joe's parents and Kaleb visit us in Logan.

Updates

I'm terrible at this blogging stuff. Sorry, it takes me a month to make new posts. We just don't have very exciting things happenning.

This past month we've done a few fun things and some sad things.

My parents and sister (Carrie) came up to Logan and we went to the USU vs. BYU football game. USU gave a good effort, but not to our suprise BYU came out with the win. I wish I would learn to take more pictures. Sorry. It was fun though to finally make it to Romney Stadium. It's taken me 4 years! Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us.

We also started looking for houses. That was an interesting adventure. There are so many short-sale and foreclosure homes. These of course are the ones that we can afford and they all seem trashed. Hopefully we will find some luck! I have started interviewing for a job once we move. I was offerred a job at LDS hospital in the ER, which is great, but I didn't feel very good about it. I have since interviewed at Timpanogos Hosp in the ER and on Monday I have another interview at Lakeview Hosp in Bountiful. Hopefully I will have some luck and be able to decide what fit is best for me. It's a hard decision for me. I have a hard time with change and the decision Joe says is entirely up to me.

For some sad news Joe's grandmother passed away last week. We went to the funeral this last Monday. We've been both blessed with wonderful grandparents who have left wonderful legacies behind for us to follow. I hope to be like these wonderful women someday. Grandma Enid was a wonderful lady and I am glad she is in a better place and free from her physical ailments. It was great to spend time with Joe's family. They are a hoot! We had fun playing games and spending time with all of them. Here are some pics.

The Joy's of Nursing

I got this post from a friend I went to nursing school with. I couldn't resist posting it on my blog. Hope you enjoy! I added a couple of my own at the end.

You know you are a nurse when....
1) The front of your scrubs reads "Nurses...Here to save your ass, not kiss it!"
2) You occasionally park in the space with the "Physicians only" sign...and knock it over.
3) You believe some patients are alive only because it's illegal to kill them.
4) You recognize that you can't cure stupid.
5) You own at least three pens with the names of prescription medications on them.
6) You believe there's a special place for the inventor of the call light.
7) You believe that saying "it can't get any worse" causes it to get worse just to show you it can.
8) You wash your hands BEFORE you go to the bathroom.
9) You believe that any job where you can drive to work in your pajamas is a cool one.
10) You consider a tongue depressor an eating utensil.
11) Eating microwave popcorn out of a clean bedpan is perfectly natural.
12) You've been exposed to so many x-rays that you consider it a form of birth control.
13) You've ever heard a patient with a nose ring, a brow ring, and twelve earrings say "I'm afraid of shots."
14) You've ever placed a bet on someone's blood alcohol level.
15) You've told a confused patient that your name is that of a coworker and to call if they need help.
16) Your bladder can expand to the size of a Winnebago's water tank.
17) You have seen more penises than any prostitute could dream of.
18) You believe that not all patients are annoying. Some are unconscious.
19) Your family and friends refuse to watch medical sitcoms with you because you spend the whole time correcting everyone and pointing out upside down x-rays.
20) You don't get excited about blood, unless its your own.
21) You've sworn to have "do not resuscitate" tattooed on your chest. Soon!
22) Discussing dismemberment over a gourmet meal is perfectly normal to you.
23) Your idea of fine dining is anywhere you can sit down to eat.
24) Your idea of a good time is a cardiac arrest at shift change.
25) You believe in the aerial spraying of Prozac. (Or Xanax!!)
26) You believe that "shallow gene pool" should be a recognized diagnosis.
27) You believe that the government should require permits to reproduce.
28) You believe that unspeakable evils will befall anyone who utters the phrase "Wow, it's really quiet, isn't it?"
29) You have ever wanted to write a book entitled, "Suicide: getting it right the first time."
30) You have ever had a patient look you straight in the eye and say, "I have no idea how that got stuck in there."
31) You've had to leave a patient's room before you begin to laugh uncontrollably.
32) Full body CT-scans would be very beneficial for all patients.
33) You believe it should become a law for only one complaint per visit.
34) Giving Narcotics is like giving candy
35) You no longer believe giving Tylenol for fever's is common sense.

Romney Cousins
Family at Funeral

Well, this last month has been eventful for us. A few weeks ago my grandmother passed away, so I had the opportunity to go to Arizona for her funeral. She was a wonderful lady and I am so grateful to her for being such a wonderful grandmother! I hope to be like her some day.

Last week we went camping with my family near Preston, Idaho called Willow Flat Campground. It was beautiful!! We enjoyed a hike up to some natural springs not too far from our camp site. It was funny, our camp-site was surrounded by creeks; therefore we had to cross a plank to get to the campground. It was quite fun. We finally got to use our new tent which we enjoyed. It was a struggle to get Xander to stay in his little dog den, but he eventually obeyed.

This last weekend we went to Lagoon with my parents. Joe and I really enjoyed the new 'Wicked' ride. I remember when I was younger it was so cool to stay all day into the night and ride every ride at least twice. This time we ended up going home early because it got too windy, but we felt satisfied with what we were able to ride. I guess we are just getting old!!
