Decorating

Another month has gone by and not much has changed. We finally got to decorating our house. Thanks to mine and Joe's parents for helping us hang up the heavy stuff. I've included a picture of our painting job and my new mirror! I think it all looks great. It's amazing what a little paint can do. I think Joe and I did pretty well on our own.

I enjoyed meeting some friends from Logan yesterday for lunch. I miss them so much!
I am enjoying my job more. It's just never easy to change no matter how hard you try! Everyone is really nice though and I've enjoyed getting to know them. As long as I don't have to triage much, I'm happy.

The other week I came home to a surprise. Joe bought a new 46 in. tv. We have been talking about it for awhile, but I never thought he would do it. Joe has a hard time with big purchases. Which is a good trait. :) It is fun to have it though!
Here's a cute picture of Xander! He's fun to have around. He is definetely my little shadow.

Changes

Well, this is our attempt at an updated picture of us. I had to scan it so the quality isn't the greatest. We are not the most photo-genic people; but I think over all it turned out ok.

It has been an interesting and ever changing month. Joe is busy, busy at his new job and right in the middle of "busy season". His last client is filing soon and he worked from 8:30a.m. to about 11pm. Monday through Friday as well as a regular work day on Saturdays. A little tiring. I don't know how he's not burned out yet. This week is a little better since he has changed to a different client.. He has been able to be home in the evenings.
I am more comfortable with my new job. It has been a rough change, but I am starting to get to know everyone and feel a part of the workplace there. I have had to take on a new role once in a while as a "triage" nurse. That has been interesting! Now I see all of the people that come through the ER. I have definetley had to learn more patience!!

We are really enjoying our home. I still haven't decorated much. I can't do it alone because if I'm going to hang things on the wall, I want to make sure its centered. Since Joe is never home, I haven't gotton anywhere. Hopefully it will happen soon!! Xander has loved his new doggy door. Now he can go outside as he pleases and Joe and I don't have to worry about taking him out anymore.

I have discovered a cool new cleaning device. We recently purchased a Dyson vacuum. All I can say is "Wow"!! Not only does it clean the carpets well, but I can reach high things with it and use it on my tile. I never have to sweep again!!

Christmas 2008

We enjoyed spending Christmas at Joe's parents house in Green River. It was fun to see his sister's kids open presents and see what Santa brought them! We also enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, shopping, etc . .

A few days later we went to my parents house and exchanged gifts with them, my sisters, brother in law, and grandmother. It is very entertaining each year to watch the dogs open their presents! It is always great to spend the holidays with family.
This last week we have enjoyed spending time with each other and arranging our house. We've discovered that we are not very good at bolting cabinets to the walls. We hung a medicine cabinet in our bathroom which ended up being a lot more difficult than either one of us knew. But it is on the wall and we are crossing our fingers that it doesn't fall!!

We look forward to starting our new jobs next week! It will definetely be different, but I hope a great adventure!!

Moving

We did close on that house in Lehi on Dec. 3. We moved everything just after Joe's graduation the second weekend in December. This is basically our first week though we've been able to really stay in it. We've had to travel back and forth from Logan to Lehi. I had to finish my job in Logan. It was very hard to do that. I will miss my friends I have made up there a lot!! I've learned so much there and I know Joe and I will miss Cache Valley a lot! We've basically lived up there our entire marriage to this point.
We are excited to finally have a house!! It amazing though how much stuff you need like ladders, cabinets, phones, desks, doggy doors, etc . . . Here are a few pictures to show. I haven't decorated much yet. My favorite addition is our new table. I love it!! I've included pictures of the outside, kitchen, table, family room, office, master bath.

Joe's Graduation

First off, Joe Graduated with his Masters in Accounting in December. Way to go Joe!! It's such an amazing accomplishment. I am so proud of him. He is anxiously awaiting to start his new job next week. We enjoyed having both of our parents there and Kaleb to help celebrate his accomplishment. I've included some pictures.

News

This last month has been eventful. We have made many trips back and forth to SLC and Logan. We have found a house in Lehi that we like and are hoping to close on it this Thursday! We are crossing our fingers. We just bought a new fridge and table, so hopefully we will have a place to put them in.:) Here's a picture of it:

It is a rambler with 3 bedrooms and an office finished. It has an unfinished basement. We are excited to expand our living space! I will let you know when it is a done deal and will include more pictures in the future. I have accepted a job at Timpanogos Hospital and will officially start in the ER department after the first of the year. Joe is two weeks away from graduating with his Masters!! Yea!!! We are both excited for that phase to be over. However, we have truly enjoyed our time here in Logan. We have both grown so much and are grateful for the many blessings we have received in the past 4 1/2 years. I have some mixed feelings about moving. I love my job here and the friends we have made. I definetely dont like change, but I know that things will work out. I'm trying to have a positive attitude. So, those of you in Salt Lake I would love to catch up with you!!

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We spent the time with my family. We were able to celebrate my mom's birthday by eating pizza and seeing Twilight!! It was so fun. Joe was skeptical about going and I kept telling him that he would like it. Who was right?? He really enjoyed it. He said, "I think I would like to listen to the books now". :) Joe loves chic flicks!!

On Thanksgiving we kept up the Romney tradition and went bowling in the morning. Despite a rocky start and dismay from Joe, I ended up bowling a 165 and then a 183. I have never bowled so well!! It must be all that practice on wii bowling paying off. Joe was hoping to finally beat me. No such luck!! Hee hee. I will say though, that over the past 4 years he has improved dramatically!! We are so grateful for our families and the time we are able to spend with them. Its amazing how the Lord blesses us all. I look forward to the future and what is in store for us.

Not to forget, we also enjoyed spending a few days with Joe's sister Becca and her family in Delta and also to have Joe's parents and Kaleb visit us in Logan.

Updates

I'm terrible at this blogging stuff. Sorry, it takes me a month to make new posts. We just don't have very exciting things happenning.

This past month we've done a few fun things and some sad things.

My parents and sister (Carrie) came up to Logan and we went to the USU vs. BYU football game. USU gave a good effort, but not to our suprise BYU came out with the win. I wish I would learn to take more pictures. Sorry. It was fun though to finally make it to Romney Stadium. It's taken me 4 years! Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us.

We also started looking for houses. That was an interesting adventure. There are so many short-sale and foreclosure homes. These of course are the ones that we can afford and they all seem trashed. Hopefully we will find some luck! I have started interviewing for a job once we move. I was offerred a job at LDS hospital in the ER, which is great, but I didn't feel very good about it. I have since interviewed at Timpanogos Hosp in the ER and on Monday I have another interview at Lakeview Hosp in Bountiful. Hopefully I will have some luck and be able to decide what fit is best for me. It's a hard decision for me. I have a hard time with change and the decision Joe says is entirely up to me.

For some sad news Joe's grandmother passed away last week. We went to the funeral this last Monday. We've been both blessed with wonderful grandparents who have left wonderful legacies behind for us to follow. I hope to be like these wonderful women someday. Grandma Enid was a wonderful lady and I am glad she is in a better place and free from her physical ailments. It was great to spend time with Joe's family. They are a hoot! We had fun playing games and spending time with all of them. Here are some pics.
